BestThanka.com is an initiative taken by Mr Dandub Lama, a renowned thanka artist who specializes in Tibetan, Newari, and Japanese thanka paintings. He is painting thankas for the past 30 years. In fact, he comes from a long line of thanka painters. His father, Jinlab Dorje, was also a renowned thanka artist who actually was following his father's footsteps. Dandub's grandfather, Ujjer Dorje, had come from Tibet to Nepal during the time there was political turmoil in Tibet. He identified that thanka still had to be made popular in Nepal so he pursued his career in this. After he passed away, his son Jinlab further went in thanka writings. He was one of the most known thanka artist of his time.

All of the wisdom now passed to Dandub Lama and he has been painting thankas eversince. He as of now has already made over 2000 thankas. His thankas have traveled far and wide and they are now found all over the world. Primarily, his thankas are best preferred in Americas, Europe, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, etc. Among his customers are art galleries, museums, monasteries, department stores, offices, residences, etc.

Dandub Lama regularly has a team of about 15-20 thanka artist working as a team. His team includes artists who specialize in all kinds of thanka painting.
